Joey - 5 Months

I'm a little late on this post, but I'm getting it done!  Blogging is harder with 3 kids, but I'm determined to keep track of Joey's milestones each month.

Weight:  16lbs 8oz (as of 3/6/16)  He gained a pound in a month!
Height:  No idea, but he's pretty long and in 6-9 month clothes mostly.

He's in size 3 diapers and wears 6 and 9 month clothes, depending on the brand.

He has been struggling with exzema on his face, but after talking to the doctor and getting her "okay," I put some of Gia's medicated cream on it and it cleared up in 24 hours.

I love when he wears overalls!

Joey reached out to me around the beginning of February and leaned over towards me from Bobby's arms.  It was a really sweet moment!  He also wants Mama to hold him at the end of the evening when he's getting sleepy.

He takes a few short naps during the day normally, and sometimes a long one.  However, he had regressed at night from sleeping 9-10 hours to getting up once or twice a night.  The worst nights are when he gets up at 2 and wants to be awake until 4!

He eats every 3 hours for about 20 mintues... such a relief from when it was every 2 1/2 for 40 minutes!  I feel like I have my life back.

He started really grabbing his toys and putting them in his mouth.  He also really loves his stuffed animals!

We celebrated Mardi Gras during Joey's 5th month.  It was so much fun, and he looked really cute!  So, let's just put all the pictures I took of him in his Mardi Gras outfit on here, shall we?

We started giving him a taste of food this month.  I think these pictures will show his true feelings about eating anything but milk at this point.  We've tried peas, zucchini, mango and carrots.  He has had the same reaction to about all of it, which is to take a few bites and then be done.  The peas he REALLY didn't like, and the mango was probably his favorite.

He loves his Daddy!

Joey is the most ticklish baby I've ever seen!  We have so much fun tickling him.

Bobby made me a Butterbeer (sweet drink, not real beer) and Joey's face is funny in this one, so I stuck it in the blog.

This is one well-loved little boy!  His brother and sister love to shower him with hugs and kisses and tickles.  He absolutely adores them and lights up when they come around.  He loves to talk to Gia, laugh to her and listen to her sing, and she loves to be around him.  Trey wakes up asking about Joey and can't wait to say hello to him while rubbing his head.

He also learned to roll over from back to side and belly to back.  While he's hitting these milestones, he doesn't seem too interested in rolling over much or sitting up much.  He loves to be held and carried around, and it completely happy to lie on his back as long as he can see toys above his head or a person beside him.

My dad gave him a little penguin as a present before he was born, and he loves it.

Joey began sitting up just before turning 5 months, but he is only stable for about 15 seconds before tipping over.

Happy 5 months Joey!  You are a treasure and a joy!

A sneezy face :)
